With the cancellation of official Half Marathon, TT Dad was able to sleep in a bit.
Of course, the duo didn’t get the memo, so we were up nice and early, checking out the construction going on outside our room.

Can I mention again how wonderful it was to be in a room that overlooked construction? Hours of early morning entertainment!
We had to get everyone moving pretty early, anyway- we had an early fastpass to the Disney Junior Live show at Hollywood Studios.
We ended up getting to walk right in, and not needing to use the fastpass, but I’m glad we had it, just in case. Of course, we were sitting in the first row. Everyone sat on the floor, which meant we were at an awkward angle to see everything, but it was still fun for the kids.
Upon leaving the venue, we saw that Pluto and Doc were hanging out for a meet and greet, and due to the weather, the park (and their lines) were basically empty! We got to visit with both of them, and still made it to our next fastpass- Toy Story Midway Mania! in plenty of time.

By this point, it had started to rain off and on. TT Dad had finished his 13 mile treadmill trek, and had joined us in time to get on Toy Story with us. We ended up purchasing a couple of overpriced WDW ponchos, and regretting the decision to pass on the stroller cover offered by the rental company.
We didn’t have long to play DodgeRain, because our lunch reservation was coming quickly.
I had heard great things about 50’s Prime Time Cafe, so I was excited to get to see it for myself! Our server did not disappoint, and it was an enjoyable experience from start to finish. I quickly realized that all the praise I’d heard was for the experience, and not necessarily the food… for good reason.
Either way, it was fun, but we exited to a much heavier rain.
Our plan was to head over to Animal Kingdom, but because of the rain, we decided to call it a day, and head back to the hotel.
ADR for Dinner that night was at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. After reading a lot about this sort of thing, I made sure we left plenty (P-L-E-N-T-Y! if you know me, you know this to be true!) of time to get us safely from A to B.
We took a bus from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom. From there, we jumped on a bus from Animal Kingdom to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Easy enough, right?
Well, what I neglected to do, was to remember where we would find Boma once we got to AKL. We got off at the first stop, which was Kidani Village. Newsflash: Boma is not in Kidani Village.
Thus began panic mode. It was a good thing we left a LOT of time to get there, because we needed every minute. We were coming up on the reservation time- and we were in the wrong place. There was a van that could take us from one village to the other, but it had just left, and our stroller wouldn’t exactly fit on there. The decision was made to walk. TT Dad and I ran off with the stroller, while trying to keep Nonie & Pops in our sight, so they knew which way to go.
Wouldn’t you know it- when we got to the restaurant, we were told there was a 45 minute wait.
Huh.
Our reservation was on the later side- so pushing that back another 45 minutes would typically be a little dicey. Luckily, we found a playground, and a few places to peek onto the savannah. I’m pretty sure they did this on purpose- we are basically sold on staying there on our next visit!
We finally (after an hour, I’d say!) were seated, and wasted no time in hitting the buffet. Sadly, Nonie wasn’t feeling so great- we’re not sure what it was, but she had a hunch it may have been related to her lunch at 50’s Prime Time.
Bellies full, we took off to try to make our way back to Wilderness Lodge. We quickly realized another issue with a very delayed late reservation at AKL. The parks were all closed! Luckily there were busses going to Disney Springs, and we could use that as our midpoint.
Traffic was once again a total mess, and it took us WAY too long to get there, but luckily, we were able to jump on a bus quickly, and we were back in our beds before we knew it.
TT Dad’s big day was coming up. He had his marathon in the morning, and we were planning on heading to Magic Kingdom for the morning!
It would be our last full day in the happiest place on Earth, and we were looking forward to making the most of it!
