Enjoying Some Grown-up Time.

While much of our vacation revolved around the littles that joined us, the adults took advantage of a house full of babysitters to fit in a few of our favorite things.

One of our (and many others, it seems) favorite restaurants is Arnolds Lobster and Clam Bar. Over the years, we’ve seen Arnolds grow, deal with devastating blows, and rebuild.  This is a very special place, as we have pictures of my family here back when I was the duo’s age. We found there were plenty of highchairs, but seating for adults can sometimes be a bit scarce, as the crowd levels can be pretty high. I could fill an entire post on favorites here.  We suggest going a little earlier than your average meal time, to avoid some of the crowds.

Enjoying our first taste of Lobster!

Make sure you’re saving some room for their home made ice cream!  If you forget, you can enjoy a round of mini-golf to help your appetite return.

This a very cute course, with quite a range of difficulty levels. There is some Cape Cod history to learn as you meander through the course, enjoying the beautiful landscape. The holes are placed pretty close together, however, so there isn’t a lot of room for those behind you to wait for their turn- and much like the restaurant, there is not usually any lack of golfers around.

TT Dad and I really enjoy some mini golf.  We have a couple of other courses we really enjoy each year on the Cape.  Poit’s Lighthouse Mini-Golf is one we found a number of years ago as we were mini-golfing our way back from Provincetown. It’s not as fancy as Arnold’s, but has some good quality holes, also with a range of difficulty levels.  Poit’s has a little snack bar, and Ice Cream available, as well.

Finally, the other course we make it a point to visit each summer, is Red Barn.  The Red Barn is especially fun for younger children.  There is a cute little gift shop, Pizza, an arcade, and the mini-golf.  The course is pretty basic, but really fun for kids.  The course is decorated with farming equipment, and animals, which are usually big hits with the kids!

In addition to these favorites, we try to find new favorites each year, but with a couple of infants in tow, we didn’t get around to that this summer.  Don’t worry, we’ve already started dreaming of next summer!
