Recovery Window

After that LONG drive home, we needed a fun adventure at home.

Luckily, there was a Touch-A-Truck event in Southington, CT.  Auntie L, Uncle M, brought the CT cousins, and Nonie and Pops met us all there.  It was a beautiful day, and the kids had a blast.   Cousin G is a year older than the duo, so it was fun to watch him enjoy all of the trucks… and it gave us hope for next year!

Our kids couldn’t get past the school bus.  The other trucks seemed to hold little appeal, but those school busses were such a highlight!

After a full day, we headed home for lunch.

We were also able to fit in a trip to Snip-Itz, for G’s second (still miserable) hair cut.  This one was an actual haircut!  The bonus to Snip-Itz is that there’s a cute little (completely fenced in) playground in the shopping center. The kids love this playground, but we quickly learned it is *not* a good idea to go there before the haircut.  Save the playground for after the haircut!

Our window of recovery was brief.  We had about two weeks before we were off again.  This time, down south.  TT Dad and I had a wedding in SC, so we were spending a few days with Auntie A, and Uncle N, in NC, before heading down the rest of the way.  The duo were going to be spending the weekend with their Auntie and Uncle while we were at the wedding!  It would be their first overnight away from the two of us.  I’m pretty sure they were way more excited, and not nearly as nervous as we were.

Our first bit of travel, without kids, in a year and a half… coming up next!
