Imagine having toddler twins. Imagine next that you are taking those toddler twins out for breakfast.
Got it?
If you were to walk into the most perfect breakfast spot for your toddler twins, you probably just walked into Scramble.
They sold us on their philosophy, ‘Think Global, Eat Local’. We love to frequent local shops that use the freshest of ingredients, and what could be better than using produce and other ingredients from local farmers and vendors.
Our love for Scramble goes deeper, though.
Scramble considers itself a quick casual dining experience. This means you order your food as you enter the restaurant. The beverage center is in the center of the dining area, so after placing your order, you can grab your beverage, and find a seat. Once your food is ready, it is delivered to your table by the Scramble staff. This is really the perfect scenario for a family with toddler twins.
You can order, and then find a table that works for your family. Do you prefer a booth? Go for it. Need two highchairs, which means a booth is not a good idea? That’s all you. Outside, inside, take your pick.
You don’t have to worry about carrying tray, and/or beverages, along with your twin toddlers while herding everyone through the restaurant! Until I grow a few more arms, or the duo can be trusted to walk, unassisted, without causing destruction equal to a tornado, carrying a tray just doesn’t work.
You can grab beverages on your terms. No waiting for a server to notice your empty glass, or ask if you need a refill. No choking down the forkful you just put in your mouth because you need to ask for that refill from the server who finally came to ask if you wanted that refill. You catch my drift. That one may not be toddler or twin specific.
You can abort mission if said twin toddlers decide breakfast is done! You know the moment. That moment when you realize there is no going back. Where both are screaming, and you can’t figure out who started it, or why it started, so figuring out how to stop it is nearly impossible. It’s just time to go.
But you have to wait to pay the check first.
Not a problem at Scramble. You already paid, when you placed your order! The hot, fresh, delicious food came out so quickly that you probably even got to eat it before the meltdown began! When it’s time to go, you can just pick up your kids (if you want… I mean… that’s up to you!) and leave. The staff will come and clear your dishes, even!
If you can’t tell, this was our restaurant soulmate. I wish we had something this perfect at home, but we don’t. Everything we ordered was perfect. We all LOVED our breakfast, and our only regret was that we hadn’t made it here earlier, so we could have come back!
