Believe it or not, we actually found time to do some traditional Fall activities this year!
We took the kids to pick apples and pumpkins, which was SO FUN. What a fun age. I know I say that at every age, but I always mean it! The duo loved hunting for the best apples, and picking them! They were counting red apples and green apples, and were happy to let us carry the bags. Gee, Thanks, kiddos.
As for the pumpkins- I think it took TTDad longer to pick his out than it did the kids, combined!
Don’t worry- he finally found his perfect pumpkin! The kids enjoyed running through the pumpkin patch for a bit before we piled everyone back into the car to head home.
Another fall tradition is ‘bird’ watching, right? No? Oh.
Moving on.
For these October birthday kids, they added a new tradition this year… a trip to the Dentist! They did so well at their first visit that we weren’t really sure what to expect, but they blew us (and the hygienists) away, again! They climbed right up into the chair, and opened wide. We are also lucky enough to not have any issues with brushing- they love brushing their teeth.
One very fun tradition we have is to meet up with fellow Multiples Families in my Twin Mom club, for the Fall Family Party. We have gone to Flamig Farm, in Simsbury for quite a few years, and we’re never disappointed. The farm allows us to use their party room as headquarters, and we all bring a treat to enjoy. This year, we started off with the animals- always a favorite.
Each child was given a cup of feed to carry with them and offer to the animals along the way. Some kids (Zoey) were complete pros at feeding these animals! She got such a kick out of the animals licking the food off of her hand! She even made an Alpaca friend!
Other kids (Garrett) were a little more apprehensive. Don’t worry- he eventually warmed up to them.
After feeding the animals, it was time to jump on the wagon for a hay ride! The Farm had already started decorating for Halloween, but nothing was too scary for the littler kids. They got a really big kick out of the day.
Next, we headed back to the room for snacks and socializing. This is always my favorite part of every gathering. Seeing a room full of twins is something else. Many of them have grown up coming to these parties, and attending play dates and outings with the group. Some of the moms see each other (including families) more often than just at the monthly meetings, so the kids really get to know each other, too.
Even more entertaining than watching a room full of twins play together, is the looks we get as we are all gathering.
