Day Two- More Magic, More Magic, More Magic!

We woke up a little later on Day Two, but there was still so much fun to be had.  The kids gobbled up breakfast, and then enjoyed some time watching their new construction friends while the rest of us got everything ready for the day.

Anyway, on the agenda today was lunch with Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace, a few FP+s in Magic Kingdom, including 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, which was a first for us. We were taking the kids on the Jungle Cruise as our second FP+, and to be honest, I can’t remember our third.  Must have been amazing.

Dinner was supposed to be at the Liberty Tree Tavern, but we canceled in an effort to have fewer restrictions on our time.

Before any of that, however, we had to get some business out of the way.

TT Dad ran a 5k that morning, which gave us a few extra minutes to relax, and prepare for the day.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that preparation was the name of the game.

We packed snacks, changes of clothes, books, small toys (cars, animals, etc) and their ‘magic wands’ (light up toys we bought for a dollar before the trip!) in their backpacks.  They were thrilled to carry those backpacks all through the parks, and I was thrilled to not have to carry it all around myself!

Once TT Dad had returned to us after his 5k, we were off to the Wide World of Sports (again), but this time the runners would be the duo!

They were signed up for the 100m Fun Run, and let’s just say there wasn’t any ‘run’ involved, and I will plead the fifth on the ‘fun’ portion. But, they did it, earning their medals.

Both kids fell asleep so fast after their run.  They barely woke up when we got on the bus, and ended up taking stroller/bus naps instead of sleeping in their beds.

Don’t worry- they made sure to be awake for the boat ride from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom.

We made it to the Crystal Palace, and checked in, only to be told that there was a wait.  I want to say we were told 30-45 minutes.  Eep.  Luckily, the kids were happy to watch the ducks play in the grass across from Crystal Palace, which helped pass the time.

Lunch was a real treat.  Not that they had decided to like the characters at any point, but they were happy to eat and see the characters from afar, and enjoyed the food, as well as the character parade.

Next up, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  As we were leaving the restaurant, we ran into a street dance party!  The kids loved dancing along, and it must have tired them out, because they fell right asleep as we headed to the ride.  Nonie & Pops were a little tired, as well, so they found a nice place in the shade to rest while the kids napped in their stroller.

We finished up with the ride, and found the rest of our crew, who were craving a little more downtime.  TT Dad and I took one for the team, and allowed them to stay there as we went on a couple more rides, and got in line for pictures with the stepsisters.

I haven’t really mentioned it, but not a moment went by during this trip that we were anything less than grateful for Nonie & Pops and their generous hearts.  They were always willing to be with the kids, to let us escape, and get the most out of this trip.

Our afternoon went quickly, and before we knew it, we were back in the room.  TT Dad and I were early to bed-  we had our 10k in the morning!

It took me longer than it should have to fall asleep, but the nerves were starting to set in.  I had definitely failed in my training, so I was not quite sure how this was going to go!

3am was going to come awful early!
