In the middle of our extended visit, I was lucky enough to grab a flight back to the northeast, to join my friends in celebrating my roomie’s upcoming wedding! Her shower was on PMC weekend, so I wasn’t able to join her for that- but there was no way I was missing the bachelorette, also!
I had been gone overnight previously, for another friend’s bachelorette, and TT Dad and I had been gone a couple of times, together. This time, I would only be gone for one night, so the excitement outweighed any hesitation or nervousness.
Things fell into place with this trip. My friend in SC would be flying up, as well, and I was able to book seats next to her, and behind her on our connecting flights. We’d both fly to Philly, and then fly together to Providence. This friend was the one who was married in May- I was very excited to get some bonus time with her to hear about her honeymoon, and catch up in general!
On the way to the gate, I stumbled onto the cutest little area! The Please Touch Museum had sponsored a play area for kids. Inside was a large plane to climb in, and various other air travel related exhibits. Not too far away was an equally inviting nook, with chairs, and a library of books. The perfect reading corner.
I arrived in Philly a while before her, so I found a little corner near our next gate to plug in my phone, and read my trashy magazines. Those first moments without the kids are always a bit strange, but delightful, as well.
When L came around the corner, it was like a movie. We ran into each other’s open arms. Okay, not really. I sat at my table, recording her coming down the concourse towards me, and she did not disappoint. Our reunion caught the attention of most of the terminal.
Incidentally, I had set myself up right next to a bar, so it wasn’t long before we were ‘cheers-ing’ the weekend, and our mutual friend!
Before we knew it, we were landing in Providence. I won’t go into the details of the weekend, but j’s sister planned a wonderful weekend, and she tried her best to wrangle the lot of us.. we are quite the crew, and there’s no telling what or where we may end up.
The weekend was full of laughs, and we really made the most of our time all together, since it happens so rarely!
TT Dad sent plenty of photos to keep me from going into withdrawals, and I can say without a doubt that they had a fantastic weekend, as well!
Our extended visit would be nearing it’s end, soon. Stay tuned, and I’ll recap some of our notable moments and adventures!
