We had a wonderful long weekend in Maine, returning home just in time to catch some 4th of July fireworks from our back deck.
It was time to reconnect with our CT roots, and we had a few weeks to do so, before our next scheduled out of state adventure.
We ended up spending a lot of time in our favorite spots, but found some opportunities to discover new ones, as well.
It was July, which meant that we were getting closer and closer to TT Dad’s annual 192 mile bike ride- the Pan-Mass Challenge. The Pan-Mass Challenge is a fundraising bike ride, to benefit the Jimmy Fund, and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. 2016 was TT Dad’s 8th year participating in the longest route, which starts in Sturbridge, MA, and ends the following day in Provincetown, MA.
It’s an amazing experience, from start to finish, but takes a ton of work, and I’m not just talking about the physical training. The fundraising effort alone is impressive enough, but then you add in the logistics of running the event, and it’s unbelievable.
TT Dad had a few weeks left to finish his training, so we took advantage of his long training rides to meet him at various corners of CT, and check out some new spots!
Believe it or not, however, the PMC was not our next planned adventure. We were ready to test our newly acquired ‘flying with toddlers’ skills, to visit another National Park.
