We made it back home from our latest adventure, which means I was able to update Monday’s post with pictures!
Yes!
Now back to our story.
April 2015. We were focusing on staycation daycations.
One memory my brothers and I share (somewhat fondly), was that of ‘rambling.’ The art of rambling is easy to learn, but difficult to master. Basically, you all get in the car, and drive around, looking for a new place to try. Typically, growing up, we did this for one dinner every vacation.
Sounds pretty straight-forward, right?
Well, it wasn’t considered true rambling until we had voted down so many different options that we were now HANGRY, tired, and it was way past dinner time. Empty bellies would invariably lead the way to a tried-and-true restaurant, because we just couldn’t agree on anything else.
The TT Family seems to have adopted this as a means to finding our next daycation adventure. In this particular case, we found ourselves at Stepping Stones Museum for Children.
We took advantage of another nice day in April, to visit a place we’d talked about going for a while. The Dinosaur Place at Nature’s Art Village. We took a quick walk through the nature trails, and caught the volcano erupting before eating lunch at the cafe. The big kids (TT Dad and I) found the maze to be challenging, fun, and entertaining. The little kids didn’t want to go down the big slide, so we were happy to see an alternate exit!
We brought the stroller along for the walks, but the kids actually walked for most of the trek. They love their nature walks. A large splash park is open in the summer, adding to the entertainment factor of Dinosaur Park! We will probably hold off another year or so before taking the kids back. They were a little too small to really play on the equipment, so hopefully next time they will be able to do more than just walk!
