We really jumped into this blog thing with both feet. In January of 2016, we not only made it to Vermont and Mohegan Sun, we also added in a couple of day trips.
Our first was to Imagine Nation, in Bristol, CT.
Imagine Nation is a children’s museum, with hands-on and interactive exhibits. Admission for adults and children 12 months and older is $10. While this is not as steep as some other museums, we’re not a fan of charging adults and children the same price. Obviously, one age group is getting a lot more out of this experience than the other. We also feel that since adults are basically required to join the children, they are almost double dipping.
They do, however, offer a membership, for $140.00 per year. This covers all children in one household, along with two designated adults. The benefits of a membership can be found here, and Imagine Nation is a member of the ACM Reciprocal Program (more info on that, here!)
At just over a year, our kids were on the young end of the intended audience. Exhibits covered many topics, including music, history, animals, and many more. They have activity labs set up for children to participate in guided activities, but also have areas which can be explored at one’s own pace.
In addition to the exhibits and labs, Imagine Nation runs an early learning school, for ages ranging from infants and toddlers to pre-k.
Our duo had a great time at Imagine Nation, even if they were a little young. We will be returning once they are a little older, and can learn a little more through the experience. For now, however, they really enjoyed a little taste of everything the museum had to offer- Including the Ice Cream 😉
