The Outrageous Homebrewer’s Social Outpost, in North Scottsdale, Arcadia, and Paradise Valley, AZ, is a dog-friendly brewery and hangout. We visited the North Scottsdale location, but instead of bringing our pup, we brought the two little monsters. Auntie A, TT Dad, and I rounded out our crew. We had heard wonderful things about O.H.S.O, and we were all very excited to check it out. Unfortunately, it took longer than expected to get moving, and we were cutting it dangerously close to bedtime.
Imagine how happy we were to find so much room for the duo to run around while we were waiting for a table! The dog friendly play area was lined with adirondack chairs, which- as it turns out- are the perfect size for our 16 month old littles to practice climbing! There were not many things on this trip that they enjoyed as much as they did those chairs.
After a short (ish) wait, we were shown to a table, and given booster seats for the kids. This was our first experience with booster seats, and we were pleasantly surprised at how well it went… In the beginning.
The lesson learned this trip was three-fold. 1. Order the kids’ food first. As soon as possible. 2. Set yourself up for success by making sure you’re not sitting down to eat past their bedtime. 3. Make sure any beer glasses are far enough away from your tired child that they can’t pour it in their lap, your lap, or the servers lap.
Got it? Good.
I’m not a beer drinker, but both Auntie A and TT Dad were happy with their brews. We also enjoyed the food. The service was extremely friendly, and they took great care of us, including replacing the very full beer that ended up all over the server, TT Dad, and the toddler.
Highly recommend O.H.S.O, and we were so very impressed by their dog-friendly set up. We all agreed it would be someplace we would want to spend more time if we were going to be staying longer.
